Fruit Fly Trap

As I have mentioned in another post, I love house plants; what I don't love are the fruit flies or gnats that sometimes live in the soil. I have tried a lot of different brands and types, it doesn't really seem to make much of a difference.
I know there are commercial products that you can purchase to eliminate or control these tiny pests, but if you want a chemical-free solution, give this a try

Tools needed:
Jar or container
lid band, rubber band, or twin string
plastic wrap
toothpick
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of Apple cider vinegar
A drop of Dawn dish soap
A splash of water
Directions:
Add the vinegar, soap, and water to your jar or container. Cut a small piece of plastic wrap and place it over the top of the jar. Secure it with the lid band or string, poke a few tiny holes in the plastic, and position the jar near the affected plant.

Make sure to check your "trap" every few days and refresh the ingredients at that time.
Happy trapping!
