This recipe has been in our family since my husband was a teenager, if not longer. When I got the recipe from Grandma O, it originally called for sage, and I don't care for sage (probably because when I was a kid and rode a horse, our Welsh Mare was mean and pitched me into more sagebrush than I care to remember). But, I digress. My kids love this meal, and it has now been passed on to the next generation. It is one of the easiest meals to make. I hope you give it a try and enjoy it as much as my family does.

Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef
1 can of tomato soup (10.5 ounces)
3/4 cup Miracle Whip (not mayonnaise)
1/3 block Velveeta (cubed)
1/2 medium onion (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 package hamburger buns
Directions:
In a fry pan, brown your ground beef, and drain the excess fat. While the beef is cooking, cube the Velveeta into small chunks.

Add the chopped onion and Italian seasoning, and cook on medium heat until the onions are tender.

Remove from the heat, add in the Miracle whip and tomato soup. Mix well to combine.

Add in the cubed cheese, mix to combine.

Place the open hamburger buns on a baking sheet, and spoon the meat mixture onto the buns.

Place in the oven and broil until the cheese is melted and the mixture is warmed through. Serve immediately with your favorite vegetable or alone.

Tips:
If you don't want to use all the meat mixture, it freezes well. Just put it in zipper seal freezer bags. Label and freeze. Keeps well for approximately 3 months.

Note:
If you prefer sage, substitute the 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning with 1/2 teaspoon of sage and 1/2 teaspoon of oregano.
