Poultry Seasoning Mix

If you're similar to me, you don't often use Poultry Seasoning, but then there are moments, like this evening, when I wanted to prepare homemade cream of chicken soup and realized I needed poultry seasoning but didn't have any.

I am fortunate to have a well-stocked pantry, allowing me to prepare most seasonings whenever needed.

Here is the recipe I used to make the poultry seasoning.

Ingredients

2 teaspoons dried thyme

2 teaspoons dried sage (rubbed or ground)

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions

in a small bowl, mix together the thyme, sage, rosemary, marjoram, black pepper, parsley, nutmeg, and celery seed.

For a finer texture, pulse the mixture in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle until it reaches your desired consistency.

Transfer the seasoning to an airtight container or spice jar. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
