For some, winter is just hitting its stride, while for others, it seems to be endlessly lingering. In any case, a comforting cup of creamy warm coffee can be just what you need. Personally, I've been relishing the variety of flavored coffees I've stocked in my pantry this year.
This Salted Caramel flavor is so good, it really hits the spot on a cold and snowy day.

Ingredients
3/4 cup instant coffee granules
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup dry milk powder or nondairy creamer
3 tablespoons butter powder for that rich caramel body
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions:
To make the dry mix:
Place the instant coffee granules in a coffee grinder (or spice grinder) and pulse until it's a fine powder. This step is key for the smooth, cafe-style texture, but it is optional if you don't have a method to grind the coffee.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the ground coffee, brown sugar, dry milk powder, butter powder and salt until evenly blended and lump-free.

To make: Stir 3 tablespoons mix into 8 oz hot water or milk.
For an extra-creamy mug, top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce (or a sprinkle of coarse salt).
Mix also makes amazing iced coffee—dissolve in a bit of hot water, then pour over ice and milk
