Stained Coffee Decanter

Have you ever left the coffee maker on, not realizing it, and when you do remember, the coffee that was left in the pot has been burned? Use salt and ice cubes to remove the burnt-on coffee.

If you have a stain on the outside of the pot, like the one shown here, obviously, the ice and salt hack won't work. I have tried everything I could think of, short of steel wool, which I didn't think was a good idea because I didn't want to scratch the glass and possibly compromise it, so I opted for a chemical-free option, a cleaning sponge made from melamine foam. This didn't scratch the glass, and it got rid of the stain.
