Italian Seasoning

I've been creating my own seasonings for several years. Although I don't use Italian seasoning every day, it's convenient to have available. Below is the recipe I follow and the steps to prepare it.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons Oregano

3 tablespoons Basil

2 tablespoons Marjoram

2 tablespoons Thyme

1 tablespoon Rosemary (finely crushed or ground)

1 tablespoon Garlic powder

1 teaspoon Onion powder

1 tablespoon dried Parsley

1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

1 teaspoon fine Sea salt (optional - omit for salt-free)

Instructions

Measure everything into a small bowl.

Stir or whisk well so there are no clumps.

Funnel into a clean, dry 4-oz (½-cup) spice jar or small mason jar.

Label and date it.

Rosemary is quite coarse, as you can observe here. This is why it's advisable to chop or grind it.
