I understand that this dish has been popular for a long time. It seems to be more commonly served in the fall and winter than at other times. Personally, I'm not fond of fish, so I don't make this hot dish frequently anymore. However, when my kids were younger, we used to have it quite often because it was affordable and lasted for several meals.

Ingredients:
1 can or pouch of tuna fish
1 can cream of chicken soup
3/4 cup uncooked macaroni noodles
1 egg
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese
1/2 a medium onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup sweet frozen corn
Potato chips

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Cook the macaroni noodles following the package instructions until they are al dente.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the tuna, soup, cooked noodles, egg, 3/4 cup of shredded cheese, onions, pepper, and corn. Stir until combined.

Transfer the noodle mixture to a casserole dish and top it with the remaining 3/4 cup of shredded cheese. Crumble enough potato chips to cover the cheese layer.

Bake for about 45 minutes, until the soup is bubbling and the chips are golden brown.
Take out of the oven and serve it warm.
