Christmas Table Centerpiece

ree

Each Christmas, my husband and I host his family for Christmas dinner. We are fortunate that we have a large enough place to host the entire family.

I try to create a fun and festive atmosphere by creating unique centerpieces. I have found the most economical way to make a large number of similar centerpieces is to shop at my local dollar store.

What you need:

1 plastic charger plate

Foam board or cardboard

E6000 glue

Hot glue

1 Christmas stocking

1 pool noodle

Plastic grocery bags

Dollar Tree Floral

Christmas ornaments

Wire cutters

Hair spray (optional)

Instructions:

Trim a rectangular section of cardboard or foam board to roughly 2" X 3". Attach the foam board to the center of the plastic charger plate using both E6000 glue and hot glue. Allow it to set for at least 1 hour if time allows.

Using a serrated knife or sharp scissors, cut the pool noodle into approximately 7" pieces. You need 2 pieces per stocking.

Take some plastic grocery bags, crumple them, and stuff them into the base of the stocking. Use enough bags to fill the stocking base and give it a rounded shape.

Using hot glue, adhere the stocking to the foam board on the tray.

Take the pool noodle pieces and put them into the stocking, standing them next to each other.

With any type of flowers you have, use a wire cutter to separate the stems and insert them into the pool noodles to fill the area. I used two full bunches of flowers (white poinsettia and silver poinsettia), one bunch of silver glittery foam balls, and various silver and red sprigs. At the base, I used hot glue to attach some ornaments and styrofoam snowflakes. Once you have your centerpiece together, take any brand of inexpensive hair spray and spray the whole piece. This will help keep the glitter on the centerpiece and the mess to a minimum.

Happy crafting!
